For many organisations documents are the primary means of formal communication both internally with staff and externally with clients and stakeholders. Timely access to relevant documents is essential. Traditionally documents are stored within a structure that mirrors the organisational hierarchy, but more and more the information needs to be accessed by staff outside these structural boundaries. Implementation of a document management solution can break down these boundaries and allow relevant access to users across the organisation.

When working with our clients to design a document management solution, we consider issues such as document approval and release workflow, archiving and document sentencing, business classification systems, metadata, document security classification and user permissions.

One Planet Solutions uses Microsoft SharePoint Technologies as the core of its document management solution. We then work with our clients to integrate the document management system into their day-to-day operations. The solution will then support a range of tools and applications used to create and manage documents such as Microsoft Windows Explorer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
